Gemini (GEMI), the cryptocurrency platform founded by the billionaire Winklevoss twins, is teaming up with Apex Fintech Solutions to expand distribution of its regulated crypto prediction markets to brokerage firms, the companies said in a Monday announcement.
Under a letter of intent, subsidiary Gemini Titan would become the exclusive regulated venue for crypto event contracts distributed through Apex’s futures commission merchant (FCM) to its brokerage customers.
An FCM is a regulated firm that handles customer orders and funds for trading futures and other derivatives.
Gemini would handle execution and clearing, allowing brokerages using Apex to offer crypto-based event contracts without having to build their own connections to a prediction-market exchange.
Prediction markets have exploded in popularity over the past year, with monthly trading volume on leading platforms Kalshi and Polymarket reaching nearly $24 billion by April, up from less than $5 billion in September 2025, according to Pew Research Center. Sports, politics and cryptocurrency have emerged as the biggest categories as event contracts move further into mainstream trading.
